Ga Mo Yin
Composer and Lyric writer
Mo-yin is a Hong Kong composer who is based in Europe for years.
He received his music education as a classical music composer in Europe. Other than composing, he is also a lyric-writer. With his genuine passion in Asian literature, he tried to combine the beauty of ancient poetry in Asia with contemporary western composing technique. His works are therefore very unique in creating a taste that only belongs to the ancient oriental world. Unless for commissoned works, he insists in composing in Cantonese, and promoting Canton and traditional ancient Chinese culture.
His works have been getting much attention around the region in East Asia. His compositions are widely recognized slowly worldwide, that leads him to become the winner of several International composition prizes, including the recent Best contemporary composer in St Peters-burg 2019. His two commissioned works were performed in 40th International May Choir Festival by Good Hope School Choir in Vagna, Bulgaria 2019, which brings the team a Grand Prix of the year. His works were performed in World Youth & Children’s Choir Festival for several year.
Other than that, he also composed opera and musical.
